I have found a place in town where I can get 3 10" MA audio subs, with dual voice coils and each have a RMS of about 400Watts... and 800peak. the box is also bandpass (i dont know what that means, it has ports on the side though or back i dont remember)

I was wonering if anyone knows if these subs are any good I have a link to them here... http://www.thezeb.com/caraudio/ma_audio_loaded_subwoofer_boxes.html that is not where i am getting them but they have them there. are MA audio good quality? and what kind of amp would someone recomend to run them. I was thinkin the MTX 8100D, i can get it for $600.. OH YEA these are In CANADIAN $!! so its all real cheap. All i need to do is make sure it will fit in the back of the old 3g.

It'll fit for sure, those 3gee trunks are frickin massive. I've got a 38" by 18" box, crack port, 2 12"s, and it fits fine. Bandpass is the best box you can buy for the money, so dont fret over that. And as far as those subs...that's not 400 RMS a piece. If you notice on that website link, towards, the very end, the full range boxes, they says EACH at the end after 400 RMS or whatever. If it doesnt say EACH after each line, then it's not. You cant assume it is. 400 from 3 isnt too great, but that's why they're cheap. I've got a 1200w RMS setup in my car, and overall I spend around $225 buckaroos. But I had a friend build the box for me, and we knew how to install everything, so I saved a shitload of money (that and the miracle called eBay).

If worse comes to worse, you could always disassemble a part of the box and put new subs in it, but I doubt you'll want to. Overall I wouldnt recommend it, unless MA includes like some 3 year warranty or something. The cheapy brands will provide a few symptoms: blown voice coils after early usage, distorted sound, nasty sounding bass, non-punchy bass. You can go ahead and try them, but they are generic. Just be prepared for anything, you cant plan in advance everything that COULD happen. Oh, and that amp is overkill too lol. Big time. Not for that type of setup. A class D is kinda big. You need to consider the installation, wiring kit, RCA's, etc too. It's not a cheap venture by any means.

yeah... go ebay... you'll end up with a better deal... those subd do look a bit on the cheap side... they don't have the finish of something like infinity or anything like that

i wouldn't even touch them. don't waist your money on something that won't sound as good as Alpine, Infinity, JBL, and many other big companies. look on ebay, they have good deals on subs and boxes.
bandpass box will give you more boom for a dollar, but it doesn't have clear sound as sealed boxes do.

Ya i looked into it some more, and i beleive that they are actually these subs http://www.maaudio.com/productcatalog.cfm?class=619 ... thats better, 900w rms hehehe... I know that they are not some great name like MTX, Alpine, JL or somethin, but I have heard good things about them and they are damn cheap!... $200 Canadian.. thats less than $150 USD.

But i am still not sure what i will power them with, i will have to wait till I get paid and see what I can afford.

Just remember, they're cheap for a reason bro. You cant always buy what's cheap, especially when it comes to car shit. Sure you may think you yourself "It has a 2 year warranty, if it blows out, I'll use my warranty!" But then you realize, you have to disconnect the box, and somehow get it repacked and pay the outrageous shipping fee (probably $30-$40) just to ship it too them. Then include a check with it for another $30-$40 to get it shipped back. That's $60 at the least there, plus waiting a month or so for them to end up giving you some used subs...it's just not worth it lol.

I'll throw this in, just in case you're interested. These are the subs I have. I wasnt too interested in them because it's Pyramid, kinda of one of the generic's, but I bought their headunit last summer, and it's still going strong. And my friend bought these subs 4 months ago. It'll be a 2400w peak system, and they've got competition, rubber surround. The excursion is nice and tight as well. My friends are awesome now, and he turns up the volume on his Pioneer headunit to 63 every day lol. The ones in my car are about 2 months old now, in a ported box, and they're awesome. I've got a Legacy 1000w powering both, and probably going to get a 760w Pioneer as well soon.

Either way, check em out. They've got a 3 year warranty (only reason I considered them) and they're hella cheap. $90 a pair! It's a damn good deal. I've got them, my friend does, and they're still bumping nice and loud lol. You just gotta find an amp and get a box from a shop made, or a friend, but otherwise, it wont break your wallet. Just check them out:

I know they are not the same subs as the first time. I just picked up the subs today and they seem like really good quality, I also heard some before I bought them too , DAMN they sound good. They are also so cheap because the place i got them from takes stuff from bankrupt places and sells it real cheap!

I also got a sealed box, cuz there were no more banpass left. I now can't wait till payday, I think i will go get that MTX 8100D amp because it is amazing, and the subs are 300Watts RMS each and there are three. so i need good power.
