5speed conversion question

Are there any trouble areas when doing a auo to to manual conversion? Is there any fabrication needed or is it just a matter of removing the automatic components and replacing with the manual?

thanks...iv read that numerous times already...im just wondering if there are certain bolts that tend to break when being removed or........if i have to replace the whole pedal bracket or just switch the pedals....things of that nature.
