Wots the specs on the B20? How many variants? I'm pretty sure it's non-vtec. Can you convert it to VTEC? Is it worth the extra 200cc over the B18?

Found somethign called a B20Z. It says that it's DOHC VTEC 16V. Low output though. 142hp 148tq. CRV engine. Is that right? Will that bolt-in? Cheap?

NO, that engine will NOT bolt in cheap!!!! It is NOT the same as the B20A from Japan.... That is the only one that will bolt in directly... any other motor will need special motor mount made and welded into our cars...

I thought there was pre-made B-series mounts?

There are from Place Racing. That motor you just gave specs on is the CR-V B20 USDM motor. It's got a great bottom end, but it's hardly a performance motor overall. I guess it's better than our stock motor, but still...it's made for a SUV...

IC. Phhft, I could care less about bottom end. I guess I'll just stick w/H22a if I have the money, or a B18 if I don't have enough for the H.

Yes there are this is the link i could find about PlaceRacing.com and the mount they offer to bolt in a few other B seires engines:

However in my humble opinion it is not cheap and not easy.. there are many parts that have to be purchased and swapped... It's not just drop in a B engine on mounts and go....

Grrr... do a damn search. Or check the FAQ, there's lots there. You do care about bottom end, you just don't realize it. Maximizing the area under your torque curve is more important than peak power.

How so? If I can stay in powerband why does it matter aside from having to use the full rev range to tach out first gear.

FYI, when I said bottom end? I was referring the specs of the bottom end of the MOTOR, not the power it made. The B20 short block is an awesome application, but the heads and everything else arent anything special. So dont argue about something you guys both misunderstood.
