That is too close to when my daughter is due. I would like to go but it's too far unless we do it in AZ.

I think the best place would be Sacramento cuz it's like in the center of the state. I thought of meeting there in Sacramento, Discovery Park to be more specific. May 25th? I'll try and get that day off if the meet is for certain.

arite, somewhere in june any dates you intrested? prefered sunday or saturday since most people don't have work. anyone knoe the address for the Sacramento, Discovery Park? if so give the address so people can look it up on mapquest.

Blue Impact
04-12-2003, 10:11 AM
I don't know the address, but it's easy to find. Discovery Park is in north Sac and is located at the intersection of (I think) Truxel Road and Garden-Arden Drive and there are yellow gates at the entrance. Here are the easiest directions I could think of getting to Discovery Park. I think it's 5 bucks to get into the park too.

Coming from NORTH of Sac on I-5: come south on I-5. Exit on Garden Ave and go east (left turn). Go down the road and the park should be to your right.

Coming from NORTH of Sac on 70 or 99: keep coming until you get to I-5. Just go straight while you're on 99 cuz that'll eventually merge into I-5 southbound. From there, just follow the above directions.

Coming from South of Sac on I-5: come up (north) on I-5. Stay on I-5. Garden Drive should be after Old Sacramento. Following Old Sac is a long stretch of bridges. Discovery Park is under those bridges. Exit on Garden Drive and go east (left turn cuz the ramp is like a circle). Go down the road and Discovery Park should be on your right.

Coming from South of Sac on 99: come up and be sure to take the ramp that'll take you to US50 west (toward San Francisco). The ramps are after 12th Street so try to merge to the two right lanes. Once on US50 Westbound, try taking the 2 right lanes. At the I-5 ramps, it's the right ramp cuz that's the northbound ramp (toward Redding). You're gonna drive through Old Sac and a stretch of bridges. Discovery Park is under those bridges. After those bridges, be sure to exit onto Garden Drive. Godown the road and just keep your eyes up for yellow gates cuz it's the entrance to the park.

Coming from EAST of Sac on I-80: come until you see I-5. Make sure you get on the ramp that'll take you south (toward LA). It shouldn't be far until you see Garden Drive. Exit on Garden Drive and make left turn (go east). Go down the road and the park should be to your right. Look for the yellow gates.

Coming from EAST of Sac on Business 80 or US50: Business 80 will eventually merge into US50. From there, you just have to follow the guys who are coming from south of Sac on 99.

Coming from WEST of Sac: you should only stay on I-80. The tricky part is that when you're in West Sac, I-80 splits into US50 and I-80. In order to stay on I-80, you must stay on the right lane. Before the split of I-80 is the bridges which separates Davis from West Sac known as the Causeway. Anyways, stay on I-80 eastbound until you see I-5. Get onto I-5 southbound (toward LA). It shouldn't be long before you see Garden Drive. Exit on Garden and make a left turn (go east). Go down the road and Discovery Park should be to your right.

I hope this will help some of you find your way there. If you need more details, just IM me and I'll try and elaborate some more.

Are they any other good parks to Chill at? I know most of Sacramento is business and industrial but theres gotta be more than one park. that doesnt cost money . hahahaha

Blue Impact
04-22-2003, 08:24 PM
Howe Park would be nice. It's free, got a big enough parking lot and a decent picnic/bbq area. The only thing Howe Park doesn't have is a river. Oh, I also saw a Mustang meet there last summer and those Mustang drivers sure look cool.

Never promised I'll be there so if all goes well, I'll show up. So which car are you gonna run with against me? Your "RX7" or the SE-i or your cousin's EX? A little side note, I've found a new route to go practicing on, but that's top secret. I hope you'll be practicing too for the home course "advantage." And be sure to bring duck tape to the picnic just in case I do show up.

Fellow 3G'ers, it's not the end of the world if we don't have the meet. Since we all know what Max drives, instead of meeting on the 14th, let's go find him and jump him on the 15th. :D I'll bring my Louisville slugger along for the windshield smashing.

Let's not give up hope, fellas. Maybe we could meet up at the next CMI in Sacramento (cuz I'll be there if we fix my cousin's All Trac by then).

Sorry to hear about your teg. But that is kinda lame to move the thing to San Mateo. as it is already the drive from where Terry (t's87lx) and I live in redding to sacramento is already 150miles. now moving it to san mateo is more like 200. seeing as though we were oth planning on bringing our cars. that is A LOT of gas. Is there anyone else still planning on going to Sacramento. Terry and I would like to know so we can save the trip.

Blue Impact
06-07-2003, 06:01 PM
Sorry to hear your Teg like that Max...I guess we're not gonna jump your afterall since it'll just be a waste of our time. :D

Mario, I think you guys should just save the trip. For now, I don't know about the other guys, but I don't think it's worth driving 150 miles (for you guys) to just meet up with me in Sac and basically do nothing. Maybe I'll come up to Redding some day to check out their Pick N Pull since I'm tired of Sacramento's and Rancho Cordova's.
