Anyone care to share their tire recommendations/preferences? I'm probably going to end up buying a new set of tires this summer, as the current (used) Proxies FZ4s will probably not last for too much more time, though they are looking ok right now. But just as a general question, what tires do y'all run? I'm looking for that balance between sticky tire yet something that will last a fair amount of time i.e. 30-35k miles. Wet traction is also a plus since I live in Oregon and it rains all the damned time. Thanks.

i would recommend yokahama A520's. summer only though. very good in wet and dry. i used to run them on my VW and they would have traction for as fast as i would dare to go. i used them for autocross too.
if you wanted an all season i know lots of people who run Falken and really like them. they are one of the cheaper brands too.

The Yokohama Avs ES100 is a very sticky tire with a decent tread life. But if you buy Yokohamas you have to drive hard. Alex you know I love these tires.:pimp:

Josh...i can't get the ES100s in the size i want (205/40/16). Since it was rubbing with the undersized tires, I don't want to deal with more problems when i get the correct size. You know i'd probably get the ES100s if i could though.

I have those tires for my stock 14" wheels and they work well. However, they are not available in the size that he wants.

Of these:

This one seems like the best compromise to me:

Yeah I've been looking at those sumimoto's. They seem like a good compromise. I've also been looking at the FM901s which would admittedly be overkill but fun nonetheless. Plus they're only $65 a tire.

Do you mean www.honda-tech.com ? Your link didn't work for me.

When my current tires wear out I'll also start looking for some slipstreams. For the money I don't think anything else is as light.

you journey for new tires has stopped. look no further then the Falken ZE 512, it even comes with a 50,000 km tread life warranty!!

I think you should look into some Falkens :D I had Gr451's they were really sticky but... maybe try the proxies or P8000's.
