does anyone know if this engine will bolt on straight, and everything hook up right? cause my friend has this engine in his del sol and he is wanting to sell it because he just bought a b16, he wants 800 for it all. in his car, he runs 15's with this engine. i want to get it, and i will probably run 16's since my car is heavier. please someone help me.

for 800? yall think so? and he runs 15's with that engine. he also has a turbo for that engine, but hes kinda scared to put it on. i could get that from him too. he would probable sell it to me for like 2-300. cause thats how much he got it for. its in great condition too. but i wanna know if it will fit!?!?! thats what my question is.

I highly doubt that engine would mount practically in our accords, and I am willing to bet the effort involved would make it pointless....but I would imagine finding after market parts for that engine would be as hard if not harder than finding them for ours. Another thing you need to consider is the kind of tranny it needs....cable or hydro? maybe those people out there that have better knowledge of engines could give some feedback here.

im gettin the engine and tranny with it, if i get it. and he already has headers, spark plugs, wires, intake, full msd ignition, and more, thats just off the top of my head.

Doesn't the d16 mount practicaly the same as the b16? I'm not 100% sure, I dont' follow civics too much, but isnt the d16 the motor that they direct swap the b16 for. There is a reason that they swap for the b16, and you shuld be able to get a b16 and tranny for something not too far from $800.

that's what I'm sayin....might as well get a b16, sounds to me like this kid is just trying to get the engine off his hands. If you are gonna do an engine swap make it practical bro.

The D16 is quite a common engine in the crx in the UK.
It mounts in a simular way as the B16 when I compared them in the scrap yard yesturday. Dont get me wrong I think its not a bad engine (my mate has one in his crx) but I think you could do better for the $$$ it will cost.

3rdgenSLIMER, Yes the motor will fit. Yes there is more of an after market fot the D16Z than the A20A. No the B16A does not mount the same as the D16Z. They are too totaly different motors the B16 and the B18 use the same mounts and tranny. I have the D16Z with I/H/E and I run 15's also but however, If you want to run in the 16's I/H/E on the A20A you'll be there. You do not want to waste your time or money on the D16Z It came stock with 125 hp and 106 ft/lbs of torque compared to your motor the A20A3 120 hp and 122 ft/lbs of torque instead of spending the money on the motor and the mounts and the cost of the swap you are looking at $1500 easy that much would go a long way on the A20A3 and you would get more power out of it than the D16Z

There are quite a lot of the D16xx engines in the local breakers yard.
They got for about £100 ($150) with tranny.
Ive looked at them (wasn't considering a swap (when I was looking for a pcv valve)) from a few CRX's etc all the 88-91 era.

No I am not that much of SCROOGE with money its just the local honda dealer takes forever to get things and I needed the PCV valve there and then!:lol :lol :lol :lol

thanks for the info guys.........yall are great help.

but for 800 i think its worth it, cause ill be getting the dc headers on it, the plugs and wires, the intake, and a stage 1 clutchmaster clutch and the engine and tranny.

i think its worth it, but i don't think im gonna get it.
