Ok u guys... I was purchased a fuel guage and i need to know the wire color for the fuel level sensor. the guage I have has 3 prongs for:
-Ground (-)
-On w/ Ingnition (+)
-Sensor

the sending unit also has 3 wires.
-green with red stripe
-black
-yellow

so what is the color code and can i just use the 3 wires for the guage or do I need the wires to power the sending unit and need to make seperate:
on w/ ignition & ground wires.

but I think in the chiltons book it mentioned that the sending unit operates the low fuel light... so I'm not sure if it just runs off the same wire or uses one of the other colors to activate the light.

So it's my guess from looking at the diagram that the yellow/white wire is the sending wire?

It works.. my fuel guage works... turns out you need to keep the black wire fron the fuel sensor hooked up... and run a seperate ground wire to the guage... the run a on with ignition wire to the guage and then run the yellow/ white striped wire from the fuel sensor to the guage.

I have a "backup" of Mitchell-on-demand

think of it as the haynes manual for the haynes manual on EVERY car from early 80's to late 90's :werd:

its 12 CD's small :) and two floppies.. actually the floppies were to get around the 'backup' protection :super:

you can buy it for around 1000 bucks american in the store..... I could make YOU a backup.... but the big question is... DO YOU SWALLOW? hahaha... just kidding :flip:

its has everything from wiring diagrams, TSB, how to rebuild the motor, specifications and a whole bunch of shit. Just think of it as a haynes manual, but for the dealership :werd:

I did some maj0r computer work for a couple local garages... so my payment was to 'borrow' mitchell for an evening so I could 'back it up' for the company... :smokin:

is it worth sending you 12 recordable cds and have u copy each cd on to it and 2 floppies for back up? or is the haynes manual enough for just regular maintanence and engine over haul?

If ur willing, i would love to have the cds made, but i guess there would be a charge for it.

don't worry you aren't the first person to ask me to do that ehehehhe.... its just that I have to take the time to burn 12 cd's and I have better things to do (ie. browse for pr0n).. :) usually I only make copies if someone hooks me up with something or does my a favour. My mechanic buddy installed my clutch and brakes all around for a copy.... hey can't complain now can I? :D
