Transmission Help

I need some help guys, my car needs a new tranny, Its a 87 Accord Dx HB, and I found a 88 Civic for cheap thats wrecked but the engine and stuff is fine. So can I put the tranny off the civic on my car? Or are they non compatible? Theyre both 5 speed manuals if that makes any diff or not.

correct me if im wrong.. but the trannys are different..
unless u plan on swapping the whole motor and tranny in..
which i dont see why u would..
then i wouldnt do it..
just find another 3g tranny at the wrecker.. or a prelude tranny
