hood support

i've had a problem with my hood prop for a few months now. when i go to pull the rod up and put it in to support my hood it comes off in my hand. yes it has the round plastic piece that is supposed to hold it to the frame, but it keeps popping loose. has anyone else had this problem, and what are your suggestions on fixing it? thanks for any help.

The white plastic grommet that holds the prop rod in place on my car broke a while ago. A replacement from the dealer was $3-4. I'd recommend you just pick one up at the dealer next time you're there.

When the plastic grommet broke on mine i just put the prop in the back floor board ..so every time i gotta put the hood up i just pull it out of the back floor board ..No biggie

I looked there and only found the clip that holds the hood end of the rod. I didn't see the grommet that holds the prop rod in place on the frame (the part that Nolan was asking about).

my hood prop isn't atached, when I putt it a way it sitts up by the windsheld under the hood.
