K folks I went cheap on this one and bought a EQUUS Oil PSI Guage from WAL-MART.

I may end up getting Autometer later on so all my guages match... but for now $8.00 seemed ok for a test run.

Now the only trouble is... there is the Oil Pressure swithch... and I read it's supposed to cut the engine off if the pressure drops... so I'm worried that if I remove it my car won't run... but I doubt that. We'll see. I may instal it tonight or in the morning. I'll let you know more when I'm done.

Oh supplies I picked up on the way is:
- TEFLON TAPE
- ELECTRICAL TAPE

Well it fit's perfectly... too bad I can't start the car till the morning.

It didn't specify if I had to bleed the air out of the line... not sure if I'll need to do that or not.... seems like I should though...

The car will run without the sensor in place but the red light will flash (i think) but be careful if the hose or the gauge breaks there will be oil everywhere... thats why i dont like mechanical gauges except for engine vacuum/boost.

Well they don't even rate the PSI of the hose they give you... and the instructions are very basic. If it leaks it's going in the trash and I'm getting autometer. But I've worked with compression fittings before on my paint ball gun so it sould turn out alright.

ok ran the car an it holds steady at about 70-75psi @ 1100 rpm when cold... I'll see what happens when it gets hotter.

normally and A20A3 is 55-65psi at 3,000 rpm

hot it drops to 30-40 psi at idle... no leaks yet... but the air is getting squished out little by little...

Since it is measuring pressure why does it matter if there is air in the line?

There's no reason to get rid of the air bubbles in the line, as you'll get accurate readings anyway. It's possible to purge the line, but it's very messy, and over time the bubbles will return.

The other thing is that the tubing is plenty strong enough for the oil pressure it will see. It's more important to route the tubing so it won't rub, kink, or melt.
