Flat Tire

I just got a flat tire and I put this stuff in it and it didn't work (that inflate a tire shit). So I got these little strip things that you shove into the tire with a poker thing and it seems to work fine. It sucks b/c I just ordered new yoko's for my rims and now I have to make this flat last until wednesday.

That really sucks Mike. I wish I knew how to help you. Just don't drive too agressive untill it gets fixed.

i have my original wheel/tire as a spare since i have 17's now. its good peice of mind not to have a doughnut in there. :)

its a bad idea to use that fix a flat crap in the can. The little strips work wonders and they are cheap. The fix a flat can cause wheel inbalances causing the car to shake and they wont fix rim leaks (usually). Also there are a number of times that when the tire guy tries to take off a tire off the rim with the fix a flat stuff in the tire somtimes it can explode in his face because its under pressure and flammable... Avoid it if you can

I also heard that the can stuff and deteriorate the tire also. I get my new tires today so I will always have a full spare tire with me.

and after you use and of that fix-a-flat stuff the tire can't be serviced ever again. so if after that you get a flat and you want it fixed the right way by a tire place with a plug they can't do it.

ive also seen that green tire sealant work really good but i dont know how much it costs

the fix a flat is combustable it doesn't flame up it explodes, the other thing is that it can eat alloy or aluminum rims and rust the steel ones. The fix a flat is a temporary fix ment to get you just to a place to fic the tire. And yes the tire can be fixed after using fix a flat i used it and drove to my tire place and they fixed it in a few seconds, but you need to tell the person that you put in fix a flat before they work on it.

I guess you are talking about tire "plugs." I keep a bunch of those around the house. If you get a nail or a screw in the tire they work just fine. I have never had one leak and they last the life of the tire. Even though my tires have free flat repair at NTB, I can plug the tire at home and be ready to go in a few minutes v. spending an hour in NTB's waiting room.

One time I brought my tires in for balancing and had them pull the plugs to replace them with internal patches. The plugs actually looked very good on the inside of the tire and they were holding air fine. The patches are "preferred," however. I take the plug kit with me on trips. Most of the time you don't even have to take the wheel off to use them. You just better have an air source (or a bicycle pump like I use :) ) available.

yeah... the plugs work great. Also you should tell the people who are working on your car if youve used fix a flat...
