I had the same problem with too shorter (new)wires for the straight prong cap. I ended up replacing my original dist with one from junkyard but with angled prongs.
I think u may use the angled prong cap on ur dist but.. there is a 90* diff between marking, like:
Wire No 1 goes to II
Wire No 3 goes to I
Wire No 4 goes to III
Wire No 2 goes to IIII
Hmm.. not sure, check urself again!

i think you are right ! there is a 90* shift ! :(
well can i change the firing order ( to correct it ) in the new cap !?
are they identical from inside ?
thanx a lot man !

"..are they identical from inside ?"

1. Well that's required! I mean the angle of the prongs with respect to the flat side.
2. With 1st cyl @ TDC, the dist tongue (rotor) points to ~ 1 o'clock on ur car and should touch a prong on both caps. That's the prong where u insert #1 wire. Then follow the firing order 1,3,4,2 as the tongue rotates clockwise. :smokin:

i can just look at the leads from inside on both caps ! and then do a matching in firing order right ?
