what bolt is teh tensioner? someone get me a pic or diagram, thanx lots!

also would it hurt anything to drive the car without a PS belt on?

You'll see it... it's a bolt that tightens the pump on the pump bracket... if you don't see it then I dunno what to tell you... it's real easy to tell what it is you just have to look at the pump bracket.

and no it won't hurt anything... but it will be a bit harder to turn is all.

Sometimes powerstearing racks can break with no assist as they are not ment to take that kind of dtress.

well other people have did this had no problems so far.

anyways i removed the belt and went for a drive, i like the way the steering feels now, its tight and in control, anyways my fluid level went up almost to the top after driving, if i continue to drive like this will it squirt out from the top all over my engine??

yeap, it will come out of the bottle.
i had this happen to me twice already. try draining the system a little.

Remember your steering pump may not last without lubrication, so it may not work when you put the belt and fluid back on.

an power rack is designed for pump asist ! so it won't last for long without it !

why not? its still getting fluid,

anyways would it be a good idea to hook the two hoses to the cooler thing in the front so the fluid can get cooled, or would that not make a difference?

The P/S pump does not have a tensioner assembly like the A/C and alternator do. You have to loosen the bolts holding it in place and pry carefully on the pump to tighten the belt.

what did other people who have removed the PS do? is the cooler just so the pump last longer or is it good to have to keep the rack lasting longer?

Becuase the componets inside the rack are not designed for the forces required to turn the wheel at low speeds.
