My buddy is looking at a 89 LX-i and he wanted to know if its a good buy for 700 buks, I seen it and it looks brand new almost, inside and out, Onmly one problem the strut tower has a little crack in it, his uncle can fix it he says but do you think its wise to buy it? Or if it can be fixed with a welder?

Strut tower bar? How does it run? Seems too good to be true.

not a strut bar the strut tower. Yeah its true it runs good we test drove it and it runs nice. Some old guy has had it since it was new and says he drove it only over to the coast once a year. So its in good hell even excellent shape.

If it was owned by an old person, there's a good chance that the car was never abused. $700 for a running 89 LX-i in decent shape is a good deal - at least to me it is.

I'd go for it if I was your friend! Don't wait too long to make up your mind, either, cause someone else will probably figure out that it's a good deal and snatch it if you don't!!

well it depends how bad the strut tower rust is. If it is about to pull the upper control arm right out than save yourself the hassle and get another car, but if its just a small hole than you should be able to weld over it if you can
