Ok I have an '87 lx-i hatch which is pretty stock. All I have on it is an intake. The engine is in very good condition though and runs as good as new. Plus I just gave it a full tune up. My question is this: Will a cam do anything for me with my almost stock motor? And could I easily install the cam myself? Recs for a good brand would be cool too, thanks!

It will definetly give you good gains. This is a great bang for the buck mod and no other modification is neccessary (except installing a new cam seal which is about $5). 1988starter wrote up a good how to to read over that in the how-to section and see for yourself if it's something you can do.

For brands, there's Delta Cam, Openloop, and Colt. Talk to me about one from Colt as I do alot of business with him and can get discounts for 3geez members. Might want to read this thread as well:

Here is my how to as for price delta cams are the cheapest but I like colts grinds the best but I may be partial because I have one. I should also say I got one because I looked at many different grinds and liked theirs the best. Any way I would spent money and get headers and an exhause system (custom is the way to go) 2.25 inch I would also use a dynomax super turbo muffler but that is just me
