OK guys, how hard is it to install 6x9's in a 88LX?? I don't want to put the stock replacement of a 6.5, the 6x9 sound much better...plz help..thanks.

Where are you planning on mounting them? Front, rear, or all?

You have to get a spacer so they will fit, they will sit up a little higher. You could cut out the metal but I wouldn't if I were you.

I would warn against buying those cheezy looking 6x9 boxes that they sell at WAL-MART. In my opinion they cheapen the likes of the car, can cause a serious accident if they are not bolted or tied down somehow and since they are enclosed, don't do justice for the speakers acoustic wise unless the speakers are made for a closed enclosure.

I'm going to cut the rear to fit some 6x9's when I get some.
