looks good... the orange on the main thread list is somewhat bright but the rest is very visually pleasing. :)

edit*

I see that you changed the orange... looking good man. :)

yeah its a volvo S60R

i dunno, i really like that combination of colors, but i cant seem to put the orange in there without it being distracting

OK, everyone should now have two more color themes available to them.

"Contemporary" has the same colors as the volvo picture.

"Modern" has the exact same colors, except imagine the interior with grey leather.

The modern is much 'cooler' and flows better IMO

ok i redesigned the Default theme (renamed "Refined"). marc wanted to keep a theme with a white background for those who wouldnt like the dark grey/blue that's used in Modern and Contemporary. it's hard to blend together whites, greys, and black with color without that color being sorta light or even a pastel. if i were to use a darker color, i think it would look too distracting.

so now there's three themes available to everyone: Modern, Contemporary, and Refined. go into your user CP and click edit options, and the option to change themes is towards the bottom.

i also changed the tan color in Contemporary to be less drastic compared to the colors around it. and now i'm working on a new black theme

I like the midnight theme but the white wording on the grey background is almost blinding. We need it to be black, or blue.

There we go. :D

the test on the dark gray background needs to be a tad bit lighter... not to much but just a little... for ex. the:

3geez > General > General > 3geez News & Site Feedback > new colors?

this part of the text is pretty dark... its looking great though!!!

MrBen

NO, change the dark grey back. Now you can barely read the light blue writing.

im working with the blue link color so it's more visible with the grey background and black background up top

Joe which style set are you working on? Im using modern right now and it look good.

Ghetto, which one are you using? I think the background on modern looks good. I can't stand bright things jumping out all over... :)

Ok I am looking at modern now, and I like it more than midnight. However the drab-looking links at the top arent that noticeable... perhaps brighten them slightly?

Ya the only thing Modern needs is the thread links to be a little lighter...

Just this part....

the problem with this template is that the link color for the forums (General, Off-Topic, Racing Stories, etc..) has to be the same as the links up at top. i'm pretty much done with all the themes. i'll still tweak Midnight a bit and i can also work with Refined if people think the purple is too :gay: but i really dont know what i can do with that

MrBen
05-16-2003, 03:11 PM
You could try black instead of grey on Midnight.

Well it looks good I think... Nice work.

My preference is Modern. :)

MrBen

I'm kind of hooked on Midnight, but Modern is my second choice.

I think the themes should be advertised so that people know they can change them.

MrBen

Ah that's much better all-black. Much easier on the eyes. :D
