Relocating charocal canister

I want to relocate my charcoal canister so I can adjust my CAI and have the filter back there to take in some colder air. I can't remove it because I need to make the DEQ nazis happy when the time comes. Has anyone done this, if so where did you relocate it to and what did it involve? I imagine that it won't be a big deal to move it to another location, but I wanted to ask and see if anyone else has done this, how they did it, and where they moved it to. Or, do you think it might be better to relocate my battery an put my filter where the battery is? Which would be more beneficial as far as perfomance is concerned?

I relocated the battery to the trunk and got a little less understeer because of the change in weight distribution (or at least it seems like it).
