i like the color but i'm not sure about it on the bumper. it looks pretty clean and smooth though. i might try that stuff in black because i used Bumper Black on mine and it's not holding up great in the front.

If the whole car was that color, then it would look good. But it clashes pretty bad with the other blue, making it an eye sore.

I dont think the color looks bad, it kinda goes w/ the emblem, however it does look a bit out of place, being the only body piece that color. I think if you painted your molding to match that color, it would give it some flow. Overall, I gotta say nice work!

GET A DARK DARK WINDOW TINT SO NOBODY WILL SEE YOU!!! LOL jp......nice job painting, but i dunno about that color....maybe a lil darker would be nicer....and your gonna do more of the trim right?

All of the moulding is going to get painted, that was just a test. All I really had time to do this weekend. I'll also probably do some of the other trim in that color. I'll post more pics as more of the car get's done.

I do like the color, but it reminds me a little of Ford for some reason.

I think you should paint the bumpers the same color as the car. Or just do black again.

Thanks, I appreciate all the comments. The color really is a little brighter then I thought it was going to be, but it's not as bright as when I first took that picture anymore. It looks like I might have a 3 day weekend coming up so hopefully I can finish up.

yeah i agree that it does "look" better black, but it looks super unique and...........wicked :pimp: with that fusion color, every1 seems to just like a clean stock look, but your idea is great cuz u won't look like every other 3g on the road, and you'll be letting other ppl know that too

does it repel from dirt like other spray paint of plastic? i had hell doind my interior black. i didn't do vynal die because i wanted it flat but i'm now thinking of something with more of a gloss but the last owner must have used a shit load of armoral so it just bubbles up.

Damn dude, that's sick. I like it a lot. The colors do clash a little, but I like it. Alothough that second pic that Blazin2gen did looked bad ass. I think a darker blue to match your car a little more. But that's cool, good idea.

Thanks lol... And it was a BLUE hood not a BLACK lol. And I didn't do it for the looks, I did it because the white hood that my car came with flew up while driving down the road, and the blue one was free... Seriosly though, you did a good job painting it, I just think a different color would be better. It looks like you are trying to hard to make your car look cool.

yea its that kinda flashy show car color weither go with the whole car that color wich i dont think would look that good or jus go back to black, actually might as well paint them the color of your car, that'd be the cleanest look.

Just stick with black paint on the bumpers if you have a DX. or color the bumpers the same color as the body. :)

I think you sould Paint the car that one color (Light Blue). It wouldn't look bad and it wouldn't make that stripe stand out.

Well, I still haven't been able to finish painting the trim on the outside of the car. It's rained every weekend since I did the rear bumper. I did however paint the trim around the headlights with the same color and also painted "eye's" on a pair of old headlights that I have. I think it looks pretty cool. Also painted some of the interior trim with the same color. This was accomplished in the garage. However there is just not enough room to do the bumper trim in the garage. I'll post pics as soon as I can get some.

how come everybody says black? i think the black makes the car look ghetto aka dx models, no offense to the DX people :D

I wonder if I can get the fusion shit the same color as my car.

Thanks HostileJava for the idea to use the Krylon Fusion. I checked Wal-mart, but they didn't have black for my stock dark blue sedan's bumpers & moldings, so I went to Sherwin-Williams. They only had 3 colors out of 16 in stock, black, white & something, even though they own the Krylon brand?!?!?! I got black. :)

I painted the chalky bumper strips the other day & they look 1000% better now. It's kind of funky paint that goes on a bit thick so be careful and spray lightly. I put on two light coats about 15 minutes apart.

Today, I painted the weathered & oddly mismatched side moldings. Looks fantastic! I did a double take walking back to my car in a parking lot today!

I am going to repaint the sad plastic window moldings next.

For those of you who remember, I gave up on the "black again" molding treatment. It seemed to suck the black right out of the bumper moldings. I'd rather repaint them than use that stuff again!

Good luck with the rest of the moulding. Post pics when your done. Or better yet, of your progress.

You'll just have to trust me when I say it looks awesome! Just in time for our 15th anniversary tomorrow (me & 3g). :flash:
