I am 6'1" and I was wondering if anyone else who is taller than 6' had a problem with leg room in the drivers seat of the 3rd Gen Accord. My car is a LX sedan. Guess I could have a 1/4 of a foot removed. . . :smokin:

Hmm, I'am just a bit over 6' and it's not too cramped in my car (LX-i) with the seat all the way back and reclined some.. Actually i feel formed to the car sort of like i can "Toy" with it. I dunno hard to explain.

I'm positive sedans have less leg room then coupes or hatches. Someone check a brochure please.

Being reclined isnt the problem for me cuz either way my knees bump the steering wheel at any position the its moved to. Thinkin of buying a racing steering wheel with a smaller diameter and the flat bottom on the bottom.

Check this one on sounddomain ~> http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/SPA015TMG29

((damn steering wheel.. i need a joystick LOL))

Where can you find the brochures?

I am 6'1" and have no problems...there seems to be more legroom for me than in my wife's 96 Accord. It probably depends upon the length of your legs...we may be similar in height but our leg length is probably different.

Well let me add one more very important point to this post since I see people quoting their heights.

You can have 2 guys, both 6' tall, but each can have totally different leg and torso lengths. I have a tall torso, so head room is my problem. But a long legged guy is going to have a problem with leg room.

very true. Im 5'10" and my legs have little room. I just have a stumpy upper body :D

I'm 5'10" and I keep my seat up close...but my knees touch the steering wheel. I like to play with the pedals :D

I'm about 6'2" and i don't have my seat all the way back; i have it one notch before the back of the rails. I have no problem whatsoever for leg room but sometimes my hair will touch the roof just a bit, depending on how i'm sitting (darned moonroof :) )

But like i was sayin guys, i dont think its a height issue anymore. Now its more of the steering wheel is in the way of my knees issue. Some of you guys are probaly right. I do have a lot legs ((:wtf: That dont sound right .. LOL )) it doesnt feel natural goin for the brake.

Hey Osiris, just out of curiousity (don't want to sound like a smart ass, and not trying to insult you in any way.), but you do know that the steering wheel height is adjustable right? Just thinking that it might be all the way down, and it's cramping you a bit.

hmm
well I actually have a larger racing wheel and I have the wheel tilt as low as it can go... but since the adapter for the weel pushes it out quite a bit... it reall only touches if I try and keep my legs dead center.

I normally left foot brake so my legs are spread far enough that the wheel doesn't hit. I also sit a few notches forward to get a good feel of the pedals. I'm 6' BTW

Well I'm 6'7" and almost 6'8" and I have the steering wheel tilted all the way up and the seat reclined about 3/4 or a little more back. When I first started driving it I had to adapt to it and now it's totally fine. Just have the legs apart and it'll be fine. If the steering wheel is really bothering you, you could get one of those lowrider steering wheels that are like 6" in diameter ;)

I'm 6'2" and I have no problems sitting in my Accord, and I don't even have the seat pushed that far back.

i'm 6'4'' driving my 87 sedan. i drive with the seat fully extended and leaning back, so i have to sit up from the seat to shift into 1st, 3rd, and, 5th gears. i fit but, i like to have a lot of room.. so i've been designing fabrications to extend the colmn 4in, shifter and console 10-12in, and move the seat back 10 in or so...

i'm 5'10, with my steering wheel all the way down, and my seat back as far as it can go (long legs) but i have the seat just right so i can reach the shifter(long arms!) but my mom gets in it and has to move the freaking seat every time (5'7)

I am 6'2" with long legs. I do wish the car had more leg room. My left knee usually has to rest against the door. I barely clear the ceiling (it's a coupe). My brother, who is 6'4", can't sit in the car without his head up against the ceiling.

I guess I have not found it terribly uncomfortable on long trips, but now any long trips are made in the Odyssey. The Accord is primarily the local vehicle for just me.
