Warm idle adjust?

Which of the half-dozen knobs/screws adjusts the level of your warm idle on a carb on an 88 accord? Just as important, to lower the idle, which way do you turn (clockwise, or counterclockwise)?

Pics would be very beneficial.

no no no, thats the fast idle adjust... right?


warm idle is the regular idle screw on the front of the carb.

Ma bad. Somehow I thought of warming up thus thought of fast idle. Damn tunnel vision.

Yeah, it's N. The Stop-Idle adjust. Clockwise to lower, counterclockwise to raise I believe. Just twist it some, listen to the motor, then go check the tach to see if it's within spec. You can reach it behind the air filter box too btw, nothing has to be removed, it'll just take a few seconds to find it. Just feel around for a plastic knob with grooves on it, like the picture shows, and start twisting!

Thats the throttle stop screw...
That sets the no-accessory load, base idle when in neutral.

Then you stick the car in gear and set the idle on the front of the carb. If facing the carb it's on the left.

After that you keep the car in gear and turn on the lights and A/C and adjust the a/c idle boost screw on the right side of the carb.

Stop-Idle...Throttle-Stop...tomatoes...tomatos, bleh lol. Means the same thing to me. I've heard it called either as well. And he didnt say which he was needing to adjust. Some clarification agelder?
