What are they?

Cast block?

Dual cam. check

Anyone know the weakness of the block??

I'd like to get info about turboing this sucker.

The block is made of aluminium. It's a closed deck design.

The only weakness of the block is the high stroke.

It's basicaly a stroked B18A so it can make 2.0L

This engine is reliable... unlike it's USDM cousin, the B21A which had composite sleeves and an open deck design.... which sucked bad.

closed deck = good for TURBO!

Thanks Carotman.

Maybe I should look into this swap and turbo it instead of the A20.

I believe the A20 is a closed deck as well and it has a cast iron block. In my opinion, (PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG) These two things (closed deck and iron block) actually make it a little better to turbo.

I knew that the A20 was Closed and cast.

However, I got interested in the b20 due to dual cam but then.. I'll just have to decide what to do..

Turbo the a20 or B20. hmmm....
