Some questions about adjusting Valves.

I am about to adjust my valves and got a couple questions for the people who have done this before. Did every valve have to be adjusted? (meaning how many on average do you usually hit that need adjusting)

Do you notice that the exaust valves need to be adjusted more than the intake ones (or vice versa)

Did you notice any major difference after the valves were adjusted?

Any other tips or hints would be appreciated!

After the valves are adjusted, the engine tends to run quieter. Also pay special attention to the exausts, they tend to need the most adjustments. They say every 15k... i do mine when i hear them sound a little loose, trust me i can tell... its hard to hear but if you know what youre listening for, you might hear a small tick... Remember always use the valve clearances spec'd on the sticker in the underside of the hood. Also its better to have them too loose than too tight, you can burn a valve that way.

Yup, just did my valves, not as hard as i thought it would be. Engine definentely runs smoother. Almost all of the exaust valves needed adjusting. only 3 of the intake ones needed adjustment.

yeah when i adjusted the valves in ambers car it revved smoother, pulled better, and ran a lot quieter!

what are the numbers i should adjust mine to. It says something in the chiltons manual, and last time i did it to that it sounded the same

do it to the specs in the label on the underside of the hood, they are ALWAYS correct... not just probably correct as in the manual
