prelude tranny in accord?

Well all, its about that time. The tranny seems to be going out.. slips betweeen 3-4th gear and sometimes doesnt go into gear at all. so what i want to do is this:

I know that an 86-87 prelude engine is the same as the 88-89 accord? is that correct? so then would a prelude tranny bolt right up to the 89 accord? its an lxi auto. Are the gears a better ratio in the prelude than the accord? I want to keep it an auto because of it being a daily driver in alot of stop and go traffic. Any help would be apreciated.

My car WAS an auto and I swapped in a Prelude 5spd, so yes it bolts up. BUT you are talking about putting a Prelude auto in?? If that is the case I believe someone has tried it and it all bolts up but the Prelude TV cable was too short. I don't remember how that turned out so try a search. anyone else remember??
