brake rotor compatability?

I just bought some rotors for my 87 lx-i hatch, and the guy at napa didnt ask if it was an lx-i, where everyone else did. I just don't want to take my brakes apart to find I have the wrong rotors, so I am curious to know if all of our 3 geez use the same rotors or if the lx-i's have different ones?

I think all 86-87 were the same, which was the same size as the 88-98 DX and LX. The 88 and 89 LXi and SEi were bigger and thus packed bigger wheels (14") since these wouldnd fit with the caliper in the 13" rims.

CORRECTION:
every DX and LX models had smaller rotors. it has nothing to do with year.
LXI and SEI had bigger brakes. again nothing to do with year.

nope, 88-89 lxi/sei ONLY have big brakes, 86-87 lxi and all lx/dx's had the smaller akebonos

Actually, NAPA is the cheapest place I know of. Rotors and pads were both 18 bucks a pop, pretty decent.

So which is it guys? I'm getting mixed responses about if an '87 lx-i and other models use the same rotors?

OK I just checked and the rotors are the same for all 86-87.

This would be the correct responce. That's why we've had people doing 88-89 LXI upgrades on their 86-87 LXI cars.

Do yourself a favor. www.nopionline.com does sell standard Brembo rotors for pretty cheap. If I were you, I gladly pay a few buck extra for Brembo.

Why would I pay a few extra bucks for Brembo when I still have to pay for shipping and then have to wait for them to come?

cause umm.... brembo is the best brake out there and thats why most of the sports car or the sports tuned car come standard with brembo brakes and calipers.

What are you talking about man??? EBC Sport Brake Rotors and EBC Greenstuff Pads from www.tirerack.com I love my new setup. Cost me $150 for the rotors and $55 for the pads.

It was just my opinion. There is a reason why people put those kinda brakes standard on cars. anyways, like i said, its my opinion.

I know man I was just representing my new brakes :) I would have gotten the brembos if I had a lxi and if I didn't look around more. My rotors are gold colored and the make a sweet noise when I brake. It sounds like an airplane when I brake. (this is normal, it said on the papers they came with) I guess the slots and dimples create the cool noise.

u dont have to have an lx-i or an se-i to put on bigger brakes all u need is the master cylinder, propotioning vales (hehehe, i love sayin it) and the disc brake set up in the back from the sei as we all know. And of course bigger tires. ;)

Well I'm not getting rid of my 13's so I wont do the disc conversion. I just got new drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, and hardware kit for the rear brakes so I have new front and rear brakes.
