I was wondering if anyone would be able to help locate some good rust-free quarter panels or skins for my 89 hatchback. I live in Ohio so rust is the #1 killer of 3g's and it is damn near impossible to find any used skins that are worth a shit. I know some of you live where they don't dump a ton of salt on the roads every year!

Thanks:cool:

you can just buy them. hondas are known for their rust so i'm sure you can find them somewhere. i just used half a can of bondo on mine. but someday i'll weld in a patch.

Yeah, I've been to quite a few junk yards around here and all look the same, but I lucked upon a great site out of England selling aftermarket skins (HB quarterpanels for roughly $30).

In regards to aftermarket skins, has anyone used them? Has anyone had a problem with them?

I don't see the rear quarter panels for the hatch, are they the same as the two door?

That's what I asked them and they told me that they would fit the hatchback.

There must be after market panel shops in your area.Check the yellow pages
As far as after market panels go Depends on how old their mold is
Most after market companies buy their molds from the manufacturer after they are deamed worn out

I got mine from Mill Supply out of Cleveland, Ohio. www.rustrepair.com

I can't remember if they had them for the hatchys or not though. I haven't put them on yet, still sitting in the box. But they feel pretty solid, and look like they'll fit perfect.

I just tried ordering a rear-pass.side wheel well arch from rustrepair for my '89 coupe. After almost 3 weeks of waiting for the part to arrive after ordering online, I called and they said that the part was "obsolete". I called them, and that's thier way of saying that they don't carry it anymore. I'm off to check out the other site that 98 posted.

Jared, Grant also ordered his replacement panel for his 4dr. and he says it's a perfect fit as well.

hey, just ordered a rear wheel arch from this place. http://shermanparts.com/index.shtml They're here in the states, and the pricing seems to be about the same as that European company. Benefit to this is much less shipping costs.

I'll let you know how good the quality of it is as soon as I get it in. If it's a perfect fit, I'll be buying a set of arches for the rear of the hatch, as she's starting to rust out of control.
