it may just be a heat shield that has come loose

I belive I have the same problem. I have checked my heat sheilds and nothing wrong. The only difference is I painted my exhaust with a ceramic paint from the mainfold down to the cat. I think that it is the flex pipe making the noise.

if your car rattles under load/acceleration it's usually a detonation problem, try running better octane or different fuel brand or retarding your ignition a bit. Pre-ignition causes the rod knock against the pins/bearings which sounds like loose metal inside the engine

i had the same thing on my car.. on hot days. or under heavy load it would sound like my breather filter was rattling... thats what i was convinced it was.... until i ran a tank of 92... and i have been fine ever since

im sure its just a little bit of detonation... either retard your timing or use better gas!

Oh yea I also just swaped to EFI and I don't have an air intake for it, so a air filter and 92 octane might help.

Follow all other suggestions listed here,. If you exhaust EVERY other possibility, it MIGHT be a scored piston (depending on the exact noise), but it's kinda rare.
