I finally Got My timing right.

Well here is the story after I got my new cam the max I could advance the timing with my distributer was barly close to the right on mark. So I finally got around to advancing the timing belt one tooth and correcting with the distributer and now it a couple degrees advance and my car is much nicer on the throttle screw ajustiable cam gears ( well not really) any way just thought I would share ok bye

thats strange... are you sure the advanve wasn't kicking in? or did you get a cam with high duration?

here are the specs
Duration/lift:
Intake 1 260/384
Intake 2 270/384
Exhaust 274/402
I am reasonably sure the advance was doing it's job aas when I turned it I could watch the marks do it's thing.. i also got a new distributer the old one was doing funny things so I traded it in as part of my lifetime warenty.

My idle is good all I had to do was drive for a cit to let the computer reconfig it self and ajust the idle screw a little but it is nice and smooth

geoff said that cam should go nice with 17 degs ignition advanced. I'm assuming at 0 degrees of cam angle (straight up).
You're changing the cam timing ~8 degs (one tooth) and compensating it with the ignition timing....mmmm...what did u set the timing to?

I set it so the pointer lines up with the center mark
