on its way...hope it helps

you dont need to use a check harness, just back probe the connector

Also, note that, unfortunately, you can't replace just the TP sensor. It is riveted to the throttle body and not sold separately. If yours is bad you have to replace the entire throttle body. That sucks because a TP sensor is $30 and a throttle body is $300.

Is it riveted or are there screws with the heads ground off? Either way it shouldn't be impossible to remove either of them. I looked on the underside of the flange where it mounts and it looked more like they were screwed in b/c of the tapered end of the rivets/screws. Rivets can be drilled out anyway, and if they are screws, just take a cutting wheel from a dremel tool or a hacksaw and cut a slot in the rounded top of the rivets/screws and remove accordingly. Another alternative is to get a throttle body from a pull-a-part type junkyard. most of them offer a small warranty for parts w/ electronics. If the sensor doesn't work, take it back until you find one that does. Of course w/ any junkyard, it's a crap-shoot as to how long it will work but I think it's worth the $30-50 instead of $300-400. I am curious though to see what's holding the TPS down.

I have an extra throttle body w/ a bad TPS, when I get home from work, I'm going to try to remove whatever is holding the tps down to see if the sensor can be replaced. I'll post my results.

I've got an 88 LX-i one laying around and its tps is rivoted. Still if you can get a new sensor you can just drill the rivots out and pop a new one in. Just about any hardware store will have a pop rivot gun, or you could problaby find someone willing to let you borrow one. Better idea would be to just drill the rivots out and tap the holes for screws, getting that thing adjusted when its held on by rivots sounds like a pain in the ass to me.

JDM B20A's have adjustable TPS, which i've come across in the Si Accords and BA1 ludes

The rivots are screwed on. So just cut some marks on the top of the rivot and use a flathead screw driver to take it out. Also, the TPS is pretty much all the same for most Hondas/Acuras.

yeh,i know they're pretty much the same, what i meant was that the TPS came out with capped bolts on for adjustment,...not riveted

That still does not address the question of where to actually buy a TPS that will work.

Any good EFI servicing shop should be able to supply TPS,or no where to source them

they are ALWAYS on ebay for like $10-20

Cruz.... It seems all the JDM versions come with them already with cuts to screw them out. This is true of the newer JDM B-series as well.

do you know if any were used in any USDM models? Or are they all riveted?

might be the ECT........check it's resistance compared to spec's

in the block underneath the dissy to the right,.....there are 2 sensor's....it's the bigger 1 on the right...a 2 wire connector

any codes come up?, i assume you cleared them from last time.

check all the basic parts first,...wiring , connectors,( for example; if ECT tested ok , try testing it at the ECU plug, this will comfirm wiring continuity is ok or not)

but check for codes first

no codes up
when i unpluged ect i got code 6

hmmm....what makes you think it's letting in to much gas?...petrol smell from over cranking?...could be main relay, specially when its warm/hot....i'd expect a code if it was an ignition signal fault....another possiblity is leaking injectors.....you can check this with a pressure gauge on the filter housing......it should hold pressure at about 33-39 lb/in2....this will give an indication at any rate

Hows the idle adjustments?

Umm. How did you check it? Did you check the resistance or the output voltage of the ect when the engine was at operating temp, and giving the hard start problems? Cause that's the way to check if it is indeed the problem. You could also use a 300 ohm resister in place of the ect, if the engine starts ok then the sensors bad. Just don't rely on the computer to give you an error code to diagnose the ect, when it's acting retarded. It will only display a code 6 if the ect thermister or wiring is open or shorted.
If you're sure it's ok, please ignore this post!
Don't have any idea where the main relay would be on a RH drive Accord, but Pete should!

everythings positioned the same except on the right side......below right of the steering wheel, inside the fuse box cover and to the right
