yah... i have front and rear sway bars and i only have a DX hatch... i guess we made up for LXi hatches by getting front and rear sway bars

In the US, the DX and LX only has front sway bar. The LXi and SEi has front and rear. The LXi is bigger than DX and LX. I'm not positive, but SEi might be a tiny bit bigger than LXi.

Do a search for the sizes. They are mentioned in previous threads.

I believe that the SEi and LXi bars were the same sizes front and rear. The DX and LX sway bar is smaller.

I really don't think the LXI's have bigger bars. If they do they would be 1/16" bigger in the front if at all. Sway bar size's did change a bit with the 87 to 88 changes. Biggest thing a DX or LX owner could do for themselves is installing the LXI's (or SE-i's) rear sway bar, since U.S. car's don't have them.

86-87 front 20.5mm = 13/16"
86-87 rear 12mm = 15/32"on LXI's
88-89 front 22.5mm = 7/8"
88-89 rear 13mm = 1/2" on LXI's/SE-i's

Since torsional ridigity is proprtional to diameter^4 that 1/16" increase in diameter causes a 34% increase in the twisting stiffness of the 88-89 front sway bar. The 1/32" increase in the rear bar is good for an additional 29% of torsional stiffness over the 86-86 bar. They're not huge differences, but probably enough to notice.
