LXI motor useable for a LX???

i bought a lxi motor and installed it in my lx with the carb and now i amhaving a problem where it wont idle any ideas ?? all vaccum lines are good i have the helms manual and have checked them all

You would have to convert the fuel system as well.
There's more to it than that.
Anyway, do a search on EFI to Carb conversion.
It will tell you what you need to convert over w/o any probs.

i dont see why you would have to convert to EFI. a carbed accord with a20a1 can convert to efi, so why couldnt an a20a3 run carbed?

You should be able to keep it carb but if you want to take the time to convert to EFI you need the wiring harness and the other small sensors that didn't come with the engine.

What is the difference in my A20a3 engine from an A20a1?

the story is that i bought a efi engine from the junk yard and i put my carb intake on it and the thing wont idle for krap i checked all vaccum leaks and still nothing i just wanted to know if there were a physcial difference in the heads .... and if there is anyone that has done this before ?? i do NOT want to convert to efi because it is too much trouble for a car that isnt worth 2000 bucks...

Did you hear the a20a3 engine running smoothly before you bought it? (I'm sure you did but...) Maybe its just a shitty engine? Also I don't think that the heads on the a-series engines are any different. As far as I know its just swapping the manifolds,vaccum lines, etc like you did if you are converting to carb..

problem solved once i got all the caccum leaks taken care of and ended up replacing the black box as one of the switches were bad in it now i get to smog it and maybe it will be on the road next week

kewl... I'm running with the A20A3 as well.. and I left it carb.
Only ting is I'm using a reground cam, a Carb distributor, and carb exhaust manifold.
