Bulb Coloring

I was pondering something.. you know how our dashes are backlit a sort of green color? would it be possible to take the bulbs that backlight them and put new ones in of a different color? Anyone have a dash layout or something?

I don't believe that that is the color of the bulb, I believe it's the color of the plastic it is shining through.

The bulbs are colored for the tach, speedo, and fuel/temp guage. There are five total bulbs, they are the same as the ones for our sidemarkers. I changed mine to superwhite.

Ok u changed ur gauges to superwhite, but the ac panel is still teal??? or did u change that also?

The gauges are backlight by a colored bulb, the gauge panel has a black bg but a clear numbers that why u get the teal lighting, I dont know if the ac panel is also that way..does anybody else do?

what are you guys talking about? It's just regular clear bulbs with little blue "condoms" on them and then in a few places they used blue tinted plastic. trust me I've taken many dashes apart

I have also taken the green condoms off. Dash lights are white but its not bright enough. Can we buy brighter lights?

the bulbs are not coloured, they have a blue condom thing over them. I replaced my instrument cluster with all red bulbs.... looks really nifty with white face gauges.

I;ve been looking for the red condom lights... what car did you get them off of?? do you know any other color's and what cars they come on?

I just purchased the actual coloured bulbs already made red. The larger bulbs that look like 194 size. The smaller ones I had to paint red myself, I used the candyapple red that I used on my taillights. Works pretty good....

I would Like to purchase some blue bulbs since I have indiglo blue gauges...autozone huh!

at the very top of the instrument cluster there are 2 or 3 tiny bulbs that shine through a blue tinted plastic, that's why

well, for me... buying blubs was never really something i wanted do, coz some of our blubs they had for 20 bucks @ performance shops. so, this is what i did: i took a permenent marker and colored the blubs blue. and POOF!!! :cool: a blue blub appeared in front of me :omg: it works well with your dome light and any other blubs you want colored.
