rear bumpoer lip on the front bumper?

i just noticed that the molded in lip on the rear bumper fits perfectly under the front bumper. and there's enough left over on each end to patch the muffler opening. since i have a spare rear bumper i think i'm going to cut it off and screw it on there.

i'd hate to ruin a good bumper but my plow goy plowed into it but gave me money to go buy a new one (never did). the botom of it is still good but the top is rocked so what the hell.
