My fuel-filling pipe have rust (leak),so my car have idle problems,so i always trie to fill minimum with gas,i have a reserve-can in my car,i and every time i drive the car until it wont start,it have happend some times now (4-5 times)
Yesterday i was driving and i had very little gas left, after a while car stops and i fill gas,car wont start again,so i rolled it down the street and it starts but there is no power,i push the gas pedal but nothing happens, and it seems like the car is not getting the fuel--What have went wrong?

The fuel filters might be filled with sump at the bottom of the tank.
Changing the filters should help. The rust issue I think you can go to Honda for a free fix. It's supposed to be a recall.

I bet it is the pump sometimes when you suck up too much air the diaphram will die on you.

a dealer should change it for you..check the NTSB recall list and call your local dealer...of course they won't jump on a job like that..you may have to make an "appointment"...

I hd the pipe changed in my 87..the rust is so fine it can make it's way past both fuel filters..but the safety issue in case of rollover.

Is there two or one fuel filter on a Carb-Accord?And where are they located?

There are 2 fuel filters on a carbed Accord. One is located towards the back of the car near the fuel tank (I think you can access it through the wheel well). The other is in the engine bay towards the left side of the car.
I know I'm going to have to change my filters soon so anyone correct if I'm wrong.

I agree with 1988starter, seeing as you run the car till it runs out of gas.

Check the rear filter first.

Also note that a carburetor must fill the float bowl before it can run properly.

it's going to be the rear first chage it and you'll notice a difference

I got this prob only a couple of times on 8 years - the prob is that your fuel pump would start fuel delivery after the engine starts, so best is that you purge it with fuel. - so it ticks over - as soon as it runs fuel would pump rapidly.

Well hope that it is a simple filter cause a new pump is around $100.

I took out the fuel pump, and tested it against the batteri,i only hear a low click sound, seems very dead to me.How is it supposed to sound?I took the pump to a local mechanic,he said that the pump is dead..So now i have ordered a new pump, which cost about 1000 Norwegian Krones (136 USD) ..And now i am planning to clean my fueltank, change the fuelfillingpipe, and then change both fuelfilters, the rear and the one i engine room, where is the filter in the engine room located?

At the left firewall (from the driver position), it's a metal cylinder hooked to the red gas hose going to the carb. It's hard to miss.

All the idles problems i have been having in the past were because of rusty fuelfillingpipe, rust were taken to fueltank and were past over to the carb, fuelfilters did not managed stop the very small ammount of the rust which got there,so everybody who have idle problems, car dies when you dont push the gas pedal, should change the fuelfillingpipe, clean the fueltank and change all fuelfilters, that should help. And all that am i planning to do..
