After reading post after post after PM after post after PM after post after PM after post after PM after post after PM after post after PM after post after PM after post after PM after post after PM after post after PM after post after PM after post after PM after post after PM after post after PM after post after PM after post after PM. I decided to post some picts of my teg cai that may help explain how to do it.

First off let me explain I used a 92 AEM civic shortram for the bottom of my intake because it was 2.5 inch and that way I did not need to widen the hole. Also I used a one piece teg intake and the stock throttlebody adapter worked wonderfully going from 2.75 to 2.5 I have 2 one from a junk yard and one from my car. So here it is and if I misspelled something and you care keep it to your self because I don't. :D

Here is a pict without the battery you can clearly see where I made the one piece into 2 The middle of the cai I used for the top L shaped piece and the top became the ~ shaped middle

http://www.geocities.com/geezpict/caihow/whole.txt

Here is a close up of the top L shaped piece
http://www.geocities.com/geezpict/caihow/top.txt

The middle ~ shaped Piece

Here is a pict of my PCV set up one blue hose (with a screw in it to seal it and a black hose coming off the valve cover
http://www.geocities.com/geezpict/caihow/hose.txt

Here is my left over piece of teg piping next to the civic piping showing that is I had widned the hole to 2.75 it would have fit.
http://www.geocities.com/geezpict/caihow/comp.txt

and finally here it is coming down with a curved pipe into the bumper (I did this to place it right behind the vent below the turnsignal and yes it does make a difference at high speeds)
http://www.geocities.com/geezpict/caihow/under.txt

And put it all together and reinstall the battery and you get this

Thanks starter for both this and the IMs earlier. And mods, definitely How-to worthy.

Yea if you look at the third to last pict to will see how the trg cai piece fits it has the same angle as the civic one.

So then why exactly did u use the Civic piping instead? was there a reason for this?

Wel should just say read the top of my post but the reason I did it is because the hole into the fender can only take a 2.5 inch pipe and the teg pipe is 2.75 so instead of making the hole wider like most people I just attached my civic intake with 2.5 inch piping.

how about you just go onto ebay and buy a AEM CAI for a 94 accord, cut a bigger hole in the fender, and turn the battery around 90 degreez, and stick the bitch in!!!Thats what i have and its so easy!!! No cutting the pipe or diffrent things to fit to throttle body!! Mine help me run a 16.2 @ 84.78!!! : )

Because I allready did mine and my battery fits regular besides if you run a 16.2 I must be in the mid to low 15's

Just to let people know, I plan on doing a cut-by-but, stepy by step on the two-piece 'teg CAI I just got. I do already have the cut in, but I'll still be able to make it pretty clear. I'll try to have it up in a couple days...just depends on when my internet at home gets back online. :)

Well, sorry guys, but I forgot my digicam when I went to my friends to put it in, so I don't have any pics. And it was also a real pain in the ass to actually get in there, so I don't feel I'm the most qualified to give a How-to. Somehow, I didn't use one of the pieces of the piping...:lol It's...umm....special :D

BUT OMG....SOUNDS SOOO DAAAMMNNNNN GOOOOOD!!!! :D

What were some of the problems that you ran into, was it getting the tube down through the hole that leads into the bumper. From what I'm hearing that seems to be the toughest part of getting the Intake to fit. Either bore out that hole or fit a smaller piece of tubing down throught it for that particular section? Boring it out would be the better choice, because making the tubing smaller in that area restricts the air flow at that point.

Hey are you guys using a bypass valve?

so matt, does the car pull any harder now? i am looking forward to getting a CAI on my damn car.. and a cat. and then i will whoop you all at the meet! hehe

my regular intake sounds pretty good at 5000-6000 rpm, how much better does the CAI sound?

cdscowboy
07-10-2003, 09:06 PM
My problems were mainly focused around the fact that I probably made my cut in the wrong spot and that the bends were rather inconvenient :)

Chris - I think the car does pull a bit harder now!! I wasn't really expecting much, but I notice the difference. Of course, I'm anal about any amount of power...I notice little stuff :) Holy damn dude...it's such an intoxicating sound!! I don't know about you, but my SR intake was pretty damn loud, but higher pitched. With the CAI, it's a killer low(er) tone...ahhh....so beastly!! :D It's a wonderful improvement...don't know how else to put it!!

I hope this summer I can get a DC header, performance cat, and reground cam...money allowing...not necessarily in that order:)

I hope you wood be that fast!! You have a lot of stuff done!! Everyone freaks out about the CAI-if people wood just do a search they we wouldt have 3 threads on CAI and everyone wood be all set!!! :)

cool sounds like its worth it for the sound alone.. i will prolly do like what kevin keeps suggesting, and buy a 94-97 accord CAI. :)

Wow you just said a mouth full

First of I live in western NY second I would not feel comfterable making another cai unless I had that persons car to work with but if you want a short ram intake you can use a 92 civic one just cut 3-6 inches off the filter end (ebay about 30 bucks). Fi you want a pict I can get you one. Yes I used Hightemp spray paint to color my engine bay. My vacume lines are red and blue lines I picked up from pepboys. The thing that says MSD is an aftermarket ignition system that is able to deliver a more powerfull spark (help conbust fuel).. Also if people say do a search when you ask a question or say somthing stupid just don't pay attention. Also spend some good time looking throught the sections for more info. You can IM for more help if you want I am midias. Good luck and enjoy the car. and I can make a SR intake if you want but you will have to pay for the intake piping and filter plus shipping. Visit my website for specs on my car.

I couldnt agree more with Cdscowboy. The sound is sooo much nicer and the power gain is awesome. I am gonna hate when I switch back to the SR.
(I used the 94-97 CAI)

Are you guys planning on getting the bypass valve?

Hello
1988starter could you direct me to an 90-93 integra or 94-97 accord intake from ebay that will work for my cold air intake. I have a civic adapter with a 2.5 outlet.
thanks
Jade

One more thing, how did you solve the problem with intake when it rains
Thanks

I put mine inside the bumper where not much rain can get to it but I do plan on adding abypass valve some time for big puddles. Little raindrops are no real problem the watter will just burn away you only have a real problem if the whole filter get's submerged in water.
