Would it be worth it to bore out the throttle body on an 88 lxi? If so, how would I go about doing this. What it the size of it right now, and what would be a good size to bore it to? What kind of increases should I see, and how much would it cost to have someone else do it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

before you go with bigger TB, get your engine breathing really nice and free....so basically do the TB after your I/H/E that way you will get the best gain from doing the TB.

All ready have all that so I'm set. Just got to find a place to do it for cheap.

have you look for other compatable honda tb's? might be a cheaper alternative

I could check but the newer TB's have less vacum lines so I don't now if that will be a problem or not. It might be easier to swap a B16 intake with a bigger TB.

Holley has a fuel rail for the B16 manifold... and Either holley or JG has a larger TB for the B16 mani as well.

I would love to drop move like cracy in my 3g but I'm on a tight budget so I can only spent 2-3K on my car a year.

just take off the stock one, and weld on a 85mm t/b,

i've got one laying around off an old ford falcon, find them everywhere, little work needed to get it to fit.

Ok krott you tell me how much it cost to Build a Db drag car i only been doing this for 15 years .I want you to tell me how much Zero gage wire cost you tell me how much sound dampner you need to do a car and how much is the cost for and install it and how much time it takes to do it and i want you to tell me how much time it takes to Design a custom enclosure and build and tune it and how many connecters you how many Batterys you need and how many capacitor you need per 1000 watts for me to make my car took me two years to get it just right to rent a SPL meter for a day is $200 just for tuneing and there was about 2000 hours in labor in it and that cost so think about it before you open your Mouth. Have a Nice Day:smokin:

umm.. for being such an expert on car audio, you should put that money into grammar school..

Punctuation!

Dude, you can't even spell enclosure, what happens when you go order some subs and write on the order form..

Kocker Silly Biziks 15 incchies..

And if you've been in car audio for 15 years, you would know that capacitors are pointless, and its better just to have bigger alternators and bigger/more batterIES.

And you say that you build custom enclosures, but you pay someone to install sound dampener. hahahahhahahahah

If you think capacitors are pointless you are Dumb as you look. I guess you don't have the Brain power to understand .By the way have fun fixing your car up on a Mc D's Budget:flipa:

Man what are you even doing on this board then? The whole point of it is to help people. Not tell them how poor they are and that anything thats not expensive is garbage. I agree when you say that you gotta put some money out there to get the performance. But the whole premis behind this board is to share ideas. Some of those ideas being in-expensive alternatives. Ie) repaint pacesetter's headers with ceramic, home made CAI, etc...)

Calling people dumb, telling them to stop 'crying', and acting like "the shit" is not respectable at all.

If you convey your experience and advice in a composed and informed mannor you will receive a much more positive response from this boards regular members.

If you guys want to argue about this do it through email. Otherwise leave the thread about Throttle Bodies just to TB's.

Ok you requested it so here it is...

HOW TO BORE OUT YOUR THROTTLE BODY
1. Purchase CNC workbench

oh wait this is already cost prohibitive for virtually everyone on the board

nevermind

I'm surprised no one makes universal adapter plates. Do other TBs have different wire connections? or entirely different sensors... cause making an adapter would be easy and splicing wires would be easy if the sensor are the same.

So if I had a milling machine I could do it. Wate a second I have a friend who happens to have one. SO lets say I'm able to bore out the TB, what do I do about the throttle valve in the TB. It would be too small.
