i have a friend who's 89 lxi s cat caught on fire, would this be due to trash in the system :help:

at first i thought it was gonna be a pic of a cat on fire..like the animal lol...then i looked and it said performance...but that would be some funny shit..

Since the CATs get extremely hot, it is possible that he/she parked the car over high and tall grass and ignited it. They can also turn red hot if the filter element inside is plugged or not circulating the exhaust fumes which causes the fuel to ignite, especially if he/she is running rich.

i would think it was because the cat wasn't doing it's job properly,....got full of fumes/gases, reacted with oxygen and caught fire,....i have seen this happen to cats that have been removed,thrown into the rubbish bin,...only to catch fire not long after
