I just bought an 89 lx-i with 99k mi and my idle is at 1200 rpm and when i drift it rises to 14ish. I was wonderin the proper idle rpm was and how to adjust it. Another question.. Is my car supposed to sound like it does? Like i have an exhaust on it but i dont. Its got a nice HUMMM to it but i not sure if it suppose too AND one more question... Where the hell can i get air filters for it. Fram doesnt make em and everywhere i go all they sell is fram.

Thanks in advance

idle for an auto is around 900 - 1000 rpm when fully warm

Manual has sligtly lower rpms closer to 800

Do a search for "idle valve" and that should hopefully point you in the right direction. I'm curious myself, cause my idle is around 700 or 800...it's too low. And about your muffler, you should get under there and check it out. When I went to get my cat-back installed, the entire seam of my muffler was rusted out!!! And lastly, filters...I think I got mine at Bi-Mart...but check with all the auto stores around...I'm sure someone has something other than Fram!!

I just replaced my air filter in my accord and i found it at autozone and it was made by S.T.P.

I was able to find an air filter for my car no problem. I just went to Canadian Tire and picked one up.

go to advanced auto parts, pep boys, o reileys, or auto zone to get a "K&N" air filter.............. this one you dont have to replace!!! of course its going to cost more than reg. air filters but this one is worth it and saves you time and money.

Welcome mate...

About your exhaust....I just got a muffler but before that, my stock exhaust (manual) sounded really sweet. I've kept it so I can sell the car with it on. It echoed so nicely...a great stock exhaust sound and note. It surprised me aswell....because it almost sounded like a sports exhaust, when it of course never was.

My exhaust now sounds even more mad with the stock sound pumped up with the muffler.

Ok.. good so i dont have a fucked up exhaust. It sounds like a performance exhaust but without bein so loud. I thought i had a hole in it but when i inspected it there were no signs.
