i think it looks good, but you should fill that taillight in. so its all smooth. i know you will have to have the line for the trunk, but it would clean up the clutter a lot to make that tailight flat instead of seeing the grooves

but i like it, and youre one of the few guys on here who is constantly changing the look of their car for the better! :)

Awe that takes me back to the day I primered my entire car except the rear bumper and had my round tails in.

Only difference was I didn't shave the side mouldings and I installed my reverse lights in the bumper.

other then that it looks the same.

Your light housing is different though... is it rubber or plastic?
the ones I originally had were metal. and the new LED ones Hybrid found were also metal housings.

Very nice work you done. I like the angle you have on the car as well when you took the pic. I like those rims, what color are they?

Wow, you've really turned the look of your car around, more than anyone I can think of. While I don't totally car for shaving the side molding's and leaving the indentations where they used to be it still is a great looking car. Please, please don't go back to the funky multi color paint job, that just didn't work. I agree about the need to fill in all the seams in the tail lights. Man, those lights are way way better than any of that altreza nonsense.

Ya done good, keep it up. :super:

What's your goal for a final paint job?

Wow Thanks for all the posotive feedback. I am constantly chaning my car. Im not affraid to do something to be different. so heres the scoop. my plan for the tail lights is i am gonna have sheet metal welded in place of the tail lights then bondoed and then all sealed up. but I have to photoshop the car to show you what I am really ralking about. it should be sweet. I also am not to crazy about the door trim just because its not even finished. I would also like to shave that completely so it looks smooth. oh and the housing for the tail lights are rubber, so I dont have to silicone then in to get a seal. The Rims on my car are Gunmetal. So here is the real scoop. My uncle finally got his shop and we have been busting ass getting it ready to open for july 14th. I have pictures and everything I am trying to get up on a website so you guys can see them. He used to work for Nascar, so now he has connections through Dupont Paint. So literally I have access to any paint i want. My original idea was to just paint the car a semi gloss black. but now seeing all the kick ass color I could possibly use I am at a loss. What kinda colors should I paint????

I think a really dark blue would do wonders with those rims.

I think a really nice, classy dark green would look wicked... And those rims look really nice, along with the taillights

Are the rims 17's?? or 16's??

ya fill that in! the light in the trunk looks really nice but it still looks like theres a taillight lens there ;) I suggest a galvy' cut out spot welded or bonded in place with adhesive.

Are those trailer lights? I have been helping drive Pepsi semi's for 3 days straight and those tails look like the ones on our trailers. Don't get me wrong they look tight. Any problems with the lights?

Well I just wanted to know what they were so I wouldn't have to spend my arm to get the square or round corvette taillights like I had wanted to. (I might do the square ones still)

yo that is tight ish man. if you got a hook-up on paint jobs, the cali guys on here will be coming out of the woodworks to be your friend and get a paint job. i really like where you're going with the tails and the overall look of the car. nice work man.

mmm Dark Blue would look nice. Im still thinking matching the Rims in Gunmetal. because it has metallic flakes which will look cool. But I dont know, cause Dupont carries some pretty sweet color schemes. like the one on this dodge ram.

hey mario......... how bout painting it white with a blue pearl??????? that would compliment the black and gunmetal!! well anyways IMO i think lines in think you should fill in the tails.......... but leave the license plate holder as is......... just paint it the body color of the car....... thats would so sweet!

MarioBurke
07-06-2003, 07:57 PM
yeah I was thinking about that too.. leaving the license plate holder where it is. I do not know what white with blue pearl looks like exactly, but I think i have an idea. I would like to see it on a car first. I dont know for sure, but isnt the 35th aniversery edition corvette a silver. maybe that was the diablo. I was thinking maybe doing that color or the color that is on the dodge ram. thats pretty sick!

Hey thanks everybody. I have been trying to get a unique look from my car. appreciate all the comments. maybe someday it will look as sleek as tk89's or pearldrops. ahahha that hard wishin! the white with blue pearl sounds cool. I think I have seen it on a 99 Accord and I abosolutely love it. but he has chrome rims. I dont know if that would look well with my gunmmetal rims??
