So about 6-7 weeks ago i found this odd smell in my other accord which i rarely drive so i figured it was from water in the trunk. But then my girlfriends cat was all over the car so i figured a mouse or something died in the muffler or somewhere in the undercarriage. So today i try to start it and i cant hear the fuel pump kick in so i check the fuse under the dash then open the hood to find this.

He got in their with the hood closed and looks like he crawled up on the tranny side cause he chewed up a few vac lines and coil wires. Kinda made me mad but im not gonna fix the car so im gonna start to strip it now. Now im worried about the nice accord since i dont have a garage but it is pretty low so hopefully it cannot fit in their.

I wish i was joking that thing smelled so bad and i had to drive the car like 6wks ago not knowing this thing was cooking on the motor. It looks like a woodchuck from whats left of it. I was mad cause i use that car like a truck and was gonna bring my engine hoist to another members house to do his swap. Oh well time to take all the good stuff out of the car and get rid of it. Im planning on buying a pick up truck soon because i can use it and i want a 4x4 to pull a trailer so i can get my other car around when i need to.

Yeah but i cant imagine what he went through to get in their cause it was a tight fit with the hood closed and he had to eat his way through all the vac lines. I do feel bad for the fact that he was stuck in their for so long and probably died of starvation because im sure he died before the car was driven since it sits 99% of the time except for last winter when the other car was put away.

I detailed cars for a few years during high school for some extra cahs and this is just one of the many things Ive had to clean off other peoples car. Just be glad yours is still in one peice the one I cleaned got sucked up by a belt or something. it looked like a cat swalled a M100 in there. FUR EVERYWHERE. It was no9t pretty and I totally know the smell.

Some friends of mine had an old 2Gee HB, and some mice nested in the blower thing under the dashboard. They turned it on and heard a "whump whump whump" sound. When the mechanic opened it up, he found a lovely good that once was a family of mice.

Damn Rob, maybe that is why the car has been running like crap???

Yeah since he ate a bunch of vacuum lines and wires. It was nasty taking it out since it just fell apart and was full of bugs. He also ate most of my coil wire but it was still in tact but the fuel pump is not getting power so he must have got to some of the wiring. Oh well i will get the truck sometime to bring the hoist over your house. I need to find a garage to keep my other car in so they dont mess with that one.

are always seeking cover. I won't tell you about:

1-colony of red ants that took residence in a motorcycyle seat..they waited until the bike was on the lift in myshop befopre attempting to defend the nest ( go figure, the guy loaded the bike in a pickup truck and drove it over 40 miles..about half of that on a gravel road before dumping it off at the shop

2-couple of chipmonks that took up residence in the air clearer of my wife's 3g, which as been sitting since last summer ( tranny is blown)..I cranke dit up a few weeks ago...and there was a noise I couldn't identify...until I took the top off the airbox.

3-clearing some brush in the yard yesterday..I found the new home of my resident groundhog..amazing how big of a rock that little prick could move..after I filled in the lairt..I still ahd to haul off a 30 gallon trash can full of rocks ( he dug in under some concrete curbing the previous owner had put in...he used this gravel stuff for foundation footings

4-field mice chewed the brake light wirining on my current accord ( little crappers)

btw..keep them out of your car by applying curshed red pepper flakes..cheap at the wholesale club.

I used that to keep the chipmonks from using my van intake manifold as a midnight meeting ( and eating place ( yick)

great picture..great story

Well that isn't as bad what my friend went through. He has got an old Ford truck shitting around his house. Once in a short while he will start it up just to help keep it going. Well one day he went to go start it up and a cat decide to have a bunch of kittens on top of the engine. So when he started it the little things.... well lets say the shit hit the FAN and it wasen't pretty.

That must be one of the funniest things I have ever seen! As an avid animal lover, a good part of me feels bad for the animal, but I cant help but laugh. Make sure to give it a proper burial.... well whats left of it. Hope that doesnt happen to my Accord!

All I gotta say is bury it on your neightbors lawn so your house won't be haunted forever by the cat.

So that is where Davy Crockett was at?

Man that is screwed up! I bet the smell rivaled the smell I had when I left a 2lb. package of hamburger meat under the front seat of my accord and after a week of wondering what the hell it was and tolerating the smell, i decided to search and destroy. Oh, i found it alright. In the shopping bag, wrapped up.It looked like decayed human brains and smelled like something died, (well, again in this case) :D

Good old pina colada and febreeze and a good shampoo took care of that!

Yeah the smell was really bad at first i figured it was from the water leak but after driving it i was like no way its from water cause its been like that for a while now. I never even imagined what i found to be the cause. I figured it was a mouse or something since i live out in the sticks and there are a lot of animals around. That car has taken its toll on me so im not even gonna bother fixing it and i want a better daily driver since i never wanted to drive the car since the end of winter.

if it was a wood chuck, then it brings up a question that may have been answered by this one. how much engine could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck engines? wow, well whatever it was that was gross. i gotta send this thread to a friend of mine. he'll love it.

I spent the first 20 yrs of my life right outside our capitol city then we moved out here and i hated it at first but im getting used to it but the animals are driving me nuts. The other mouring their was a rabbit under my nice car when i went out. Damn animals wont leave my cars alone. But im only about 25 minutes from where i was but its the total opposite from city life.

You should set up some traps. Like some dynimate or something that would stop the little critters in their tracks.:)

i wish you had told me im only like 2 seconds away..i would have loved to pokle it wit ha stick or something...lol......

look at it this way!!!! it wasnt the B20!!!!!

RobT5580
07-17-2003, 01:31 PM
The car will be stored when the B20A is in cause the paint will be done so it wont stay outside any longer. I have noticed a lot of cars at work have the under hood linings chewed and have mice nests or what ever they call them built up in the air boxes. Damn country sucks didnt have this problem in E.Hartford.....
