I was wondering if any one had any ideas on what I could put in the place of my Dash clock? It can be anything.

Why not just skip the scanner and use the clock space to mount the weapons guidance system? :D:D

I read one time about a guy who actually mounted tubes on his Miata that fit model rockets and had launch switches in his car so he could shoot them. I think they were mounted in his front bumper somwhere........and they actually worked!

....but I can't take credit for the idea, but I'll take credit for making this. Paulie, from the original 3G crew gave me the idea and I got from pointers from him on making it as well.

sounds like a plan! As soon as I get off my ass and decide to make another one, I'll put the ACCORD emblem on it.

that insert is done in 5/8" basswood, the "3G" was cut from 3/8" basswood, tacked, glued and sanded. Then the whole thing was wrapped, shrunk, and pressed with black duckcloth that I marbelized before using. Stilts are then added for stability.

That one was the first one I tried making. Overall it came out OK IMO. I've actually been working on another handfull of ideas, but have yet to actually start cutting. This next time up I'll either bake the wood before using it, or just use marine grade starboard b/c this one has expanded and shrunk depending on temperature and weather. It's also begun to get a tiny warp in it.

Oh well.

could you use mdf to make it?? that would be nice to have, because i NEVER use that space on my dash for anything. i had thought about getting one of those small square incense holders and mounting it there. the bad thing is the smoke could be too thick and if you roll down the windows...... you know what people would think.
