ANybody rigged this yet? I measured the grille and you can mount a 6x9 in there at an angle and not block the cone and it would bring a nice midbass soundstage to the front. I was trying to find 6x9 pods for the rear speakers to make the baffle but all the 3geez in the u-pick don't have 6x9's
pics please

I would really really suggest against it. 6X9's bass does not sound the same as normal round cone bass. That, and there are many many more high-quality 6.5"s than 6X9's.

Like my 6.5"s up front, they cost around $230, and they act like miniature subwoofers, tons and tons of bass... moreso than some of my friends 6X9's.

For the children, POS, don't do it ;)

I'm not talking regular 6x9, I'm talking like Infinity Kappa 6x9 :)
but yea I guess a 6 1/2 would sound alright but mine has 5 1/4 and they had trouble keeping up with the 12's

Some 6x9 kappas would be nice. Just get the 6.5" Kappa Perfects. They are only like $400 or something

I wouldn't even get perfects... I'm buying Adire Koda speakers... they have 7 mm of xmax... some subwoofers don't have that kind of excursion.

Only $350 too.

*EDIT* NM, I posted without thinking at all... Perfects are excellent speakers, I just think they're overpriced.

I've got 6x9 kappas in the back, and 5 1/4 kappas up front. A 100 watts each channel, and they sound AMAZING... nothing like it. Before I even got the amp in I could make my car rattle, but now it's just unbelievable. If I would have been thinking though, I would have bought the 6.5 kappa's and just made or bought a pod that would make it fit. But I'm happy with what I've got....

Just get the kappa 6x9's in the back, and mod somethin' up for the 6.5's. Then show me pics so i can do it :D :D :D :D

And get the speakers off ebay, save yourself the hundreds

:super: :super: :super:

another problem with having 6x9's up front is that they're a lot heaver then 6.5's and after a while of the door opening and closing, they have a good chance of tearing out unless you did some heavy duty structuring.
