I have an 88 dx coupe. How much horsepower does it have?

A whopping 98hp at the flywheel. about 80-85hp at the wheels, depends on the error margin you use. I think it is 15% error margin for honda.

umm.. so you mean like, loss of power through the drivetrain?

actually.. i think the 88-89 carb models have about 110 or so don't they??

i have a 87 LX carbed and i looked it up on the internet and it gets 98 hp

all carbs get 98 HP
86-87 LXi have 110
88-89 LXI, SEi get 122

Yea that is a lot of power. 98! It is more then I have right now.

I am going to do the carb to FI swap. According to the above posts, the 88-89 models get 10 more horsepower then the 86-87 models. Why? And if i do the conversition, should i get an EFI engine out of a 88-89 accord or does it matter?

nope, 86-89 DX or LX had 98hp.
86-87 LXI had 110hp
88-89 LXI and SEI had 122hp.
