squealing noise.. help

i just replaced my waterpump, and now when i start the car theres a loud squealing noise. what does this mean? did i over tighten or the opposite. thanks!

either way you'll get a squealing noise if its the belt. you should have about 1/4" play in the belt. Also, you could have gotten grease on the pully when installing the belt.
