What is the difficulty level of a transmission swap for auto to manual.

I have worked on my car alot, what is the rate of 1 to 10?

The hardest thing I've done is changed my power steering rack and pinion, and head gasket. Those were low 7 to me, so let me know what I should expect personally. :)

Fastest it ever took for me and my brother (without proper tools) to replace my clutch was a little under 6 hours. I hope this is a start for you.

Yeah, I figure about 2-3 days for a whole swap, but 88lxi did a b20 swap and he said he might help me. So if he helps me, maybe 10 hours at the most.

He only lives about 6 miles from my house. It'll be about 1 month till I start. You never thought 2 people from Idaho could live so close and have a 3geez eh?

i assume you'll pull the engine out,....since you've done the other things you mention,i think you'll find it reasonably straight forward, just time consuming

My neighbor from across the street has a white 3G as well. Either an 88 or 89, an LX, but he's got an 86-87 trunklid (black). I might ask to buy his GSR rims someday. He's got GSR rims on his bone stock 3G.

its very time consuming and theres a lot of down time with your car which doesnt work if you need it everyday. it is difficlut becuase you need to take so much of the car apart to do it. i spent 5 hours just switching the pedals. then about 18-20 hours doing the rest of the swap. putting the new tranny in is a pain in the ass, and you definitely need a partner to help. im still tweaking mine to get everything right. but if you are a decent mechanic and you have the means to do it, i reccomend it highly. its like im driving and entirely new car

you think the tranny is ready to come out and then you find another bolt... then its ready.. but wait.. there is two more bolts! ok.. this time? nope.. more bolts...

the bolts seem to never end... i didnt put all my bolts back cuz i know im gonna have to replace the clutch again

That's the thing when fixing anything on your car. Left over parts and bolts, but the car still works. :)
