Ok here is the story my car was running like crap and I figured out it was my fuel presure regulator, so I slap the stock one back on and take apart my ajustiable one. Put it back together and put a new gauge on it . Wow my top end has returned to normal. (I felt I had lost some with the stock regulator.) OK then I started looking at our secondary butterflysI notice my little lever that opens them up has come loose and no longer does any thing. Well that is once again attached and my top end has really opeaned up again. I though I wouls hare this and tell the 88,89 efi guys to check their secondarys and make sure they are opeaning properly also if the controll unit is not opeaning them then you may want to consider the secondary butterfly conversion. By changing their vacume signal to one from the intake manifold.

yeah... thatll work for a temporary fix, another thing to look for if it doesnt work is the vacuum solenoid (somtimes they go bad) or vacuum leaks.

OK just so you know, the secondary butterflies will stay open all the time if the vaccum line is removed... I have stated this before in another thread.. I have also Dynoed my car with the Vaccum line attached and then removed and the results showed that with the vaccum line removed and butterflies open all the time there was a gain of 3HP from 3300rpm to redline...

Oh I just took it apart to see if I could remove the butterfly plate I cannot the dog bone type engine mount is not allowing me to. Any way with the butterflys hooked up to the intake manifold they stay closed when the throttle body is closed but open up as soon as you press the gas.

The round thing, that's the diameter of a popcan?

also I have noticed that having the fuel pressure at 40 psi at idle and 45 durring acceleration does well for my car.

yeah... i bypassed it again and ran it off intake vacuum, or lack thereof. I feel a stronger pull after about 4k, but below that the torque is lacking.

I think my silonoid is dead because mine never moves when I have the vacume line attached to it.

If i where you id go to a JY and grab a vacuum control box from any FI accord (yes even 86-87 boxes have the right kind of solenoid) and use a solenoid that looks close and replace just that solenoid.
