On a recent trip i noticed that my tranny was acting weird. I had been driving the car for about an hour in 85-90 degree weather while accelerating and braking around traffic averaging about 85 mph. As i paid the second toll the car would take to long to "catch the next gear". It would shift at the right point but the revs would jump and then catch the gear. i freaked out, but kept driving because someone once told me if your moving then keep moving. I slowed down to 70-75mph and when i got off the highway the car was fine. The car was fine in the drive home at night (75 or 80 degrees) while i was going 75-80 mph. I had four people on the way there only three on the way back. The tranny was replaced with a rebuilt 4 years ago and only has 40000 miles on it since it was replaced. I haven't had a problem since, that trip was the longest i've done in the car in a long time also. I drive the car everyday and a few times a week on the highway no problems.

The gears are slipping. Try first to drain the fluid and change it. Most likey thats all you need to do to fix it.
