about a year ago i had all 4 ball joints replaced because of of mine broke...about a month after they replaced them the car began to squeak and moan when i got in and out of it and now it squeaks the entire time its moving uder 40mph it soo freakin embarassing ...its bad enough the thing is 3 colours...now people have to stare at it because of the horrible squeaking.....i think i may take it back to that place and ask them what the hell is wrong....it never made a sound with the old ball joints..thats the funny thing...and i know its the ball joints....i just need to get the noise fixed or ill never be able to look at my car without wanting to push it off a cliff.....help

it is the new rubber bushings. they are dry. try spraying WD40.

I got the same issue with ball joints... except mine make a clunking noise in the front, and they were rescently replaced. The car is gonna be at the honda service shop next saturday, but does anyone know what it might be?

Make sure the balljoints are packed with greese inside the ballcup.

yeah try greasing the bushings because if it's not that you got some shitty balljoints

I broke the bushing that connects the rear control arm on my car awhile ago, and it squeeks sometimes..... alot of wd-40 fixes it for awhile

check the bushing on the upper control arm were if mounts to the body, mine is making a hella racket. best way to check if its this bushing pop the hood, put your hand on the inside in the engine compartment were it mounts to the car and bouce it. if you get a noise and feel it in your hand it's probably that bushing. Same deal for checking the rear. Ball joints rarely squeek and groan, they usually end up clunking so i doubt its a ball joint, but check;em just in case. The control arm bushings are a bitch....and price, i took mine apart as best i could and soaked it in moovit, and then reassembled it with a shitload of white grease and that got it, but i really don't see this lasting long.

my rear upper control arms came with polyurethane bushings. Takes WD40 every couple weeks (or sooner if it rains like mad) to quiet down the suckers. Tried motor oil as well but it doesnt penetrate like WD40.

Try silicone spray. Penetrates like WD-40 but it lasts longer

My front upper bushings squeeked right after I put them in, but since I sprayed them multiple times with wd-40 and they are nice and quiet now. My chevelle's newer bushings do the same thing, I'll have to try that silicone spray, I use the wd-40 all the time but it never actually has done anything. I'll also have to use that for my noisy poly sway bar bushings. Thanks for the tip.

A German company called "Worth" makes a special penetrating lubricant that thickens upon application sorta like motorcycle chain lube. Its about 12 bucks a can or more, but is very good for these kind of squeaks. It works great for door hinges etc.

I tried it on squeaky upper control arm bushings, but it couldnt penetrate past the o-rings which seal the bushings inside the control arm. I could try taking things apart, but my car is from the rust belt, and its going to be a pain.

I'm not sure, My dad has a grease gun (like a calking gun i suppose) with a thin needle that is to insert into the balljoint rubber part and just pack it with grease. :shrugs:

That might help stop some of the noise if the balljoint was kinda dry.

However, generally speaking, grease fittings are needed to push the grease in from behind the ball.

Given the Accord lower balljoint is lubed for life, if its dry, it needs replacement (There are no grease fittings).

As for lubing the upper control arm bushings, I believe disassembly is required because the o-rings seal the bushings from the elements.

So water, grease, oil, can't get in unless that o-ring is missing or damaged.
