hey does anyone knows what does this wire do?
i haven't seen on mine.

i think this is the wire that activates the fast idle ? not sure? :rolleyes: :confused:

you know when you sometimes need to press gas before starting the car ( cold mornings ) you have to push the gas pedal to a certail limit so the fast idel would work ! anyway i am not sure if this cable does that or not ! :)

that's what the cruise control uses to control your speed, that's why the pedal sinks when u go uphill in cruise

About the fast idle on carbs, the choke stays open just like it was when it was hot the last time you drove it and shut the engine off. You need to pump the pedal once to "reset" and close the choke.

carbs has an eletric choke not manual

yes but after you shut the car off the fast idle mechanism extends and locks the choke open where it remains building tension on the coil (it cools but is held open) until you tap the pedal and allow enough clearance for the choke to snap shut
