what year/ trim lvls will have the same crossmember as my 1989 lxi 4 door.

crossmember = the piece that runs under the engine and both lower control arms mount into it.

:huh: I'm wondering why you'd think it would be different on any 3rd gen period? Unless we are thinking about some other part.

well,
i think he is talking about sway bar.
it is the only thing that connect lower control arms.
if it is the sway bar, than stick to the oen from LXI. they have thicker one than LX or DX.

Not only the sway bar, but the rear beam also has both lower control arms attached to it. Any 3rd gen beam will take it's place, nothing special or unique for that part.

i mean the part that the control arm actuall mounts onto, not just what is attached to it, sway bar just attaches to it

if you mean the crossmember in the rear that the lower arms bolt to (part #2) yes they are the same I'm pretty sure, if for some reason they WERE different it would probably fit anyways, they are all the same width.

This is what you mean right? Under the CV joint where it meets. They are all compatible

yup thats it, i started taking it out of an 89 lx in the yard yesterday but i got rained out after i got it blocked up. it has some rust on the ends but i figure i can just clean it and repaint it before i put it back in. it looks stuctualy sound. if anyone has any tips on how to get it out plz tell me, ill be going back monday if it doesnt rain.
